Alex & Jimmy

Alex and Jimmy have just returned home after completing an unforgettable lap around Australia in their beloved ‘Troopy.’ In the coming months, they’ll be parting ways with their trusty vehicle to embark on new adventures overseas. To capture the memories of their Australian journey and the car that had been their home for the past couple of years, we got together for a photo session.

We met at the Stanley Bridge Tavern in Verdun, planning to enjoy a quick drink before snapping some photos. However, the weather had other plans. Clouds swiftly moved in, threatening to obscure the setting sun, so we quickly left the Tavern, abandoning our drink in favor of chasing the evening light.

We piled into the Troopy and started working through some of the saved location pins we had planned. Just as we neared the third pin, we stumbled upon a charming old dairy, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. It was the perfect spot. We set up a little picnic on the old platform, poured a few glasses of wine, and chatted while I snapped some photos, soaking in the peaceful moment.

Not ready to call it quits just yet, we decided to try one last location before the light disappeared. We found an old, white picket fence marking the entrance to a property, but by the time we arrived, the light had almost faded. I asked Alex and Jimmy to dance & spin around while I lowered my shutter speed and captured some dynamic motion shots that felt like a scene straight out of a ‘90s rom-com. It was the perfect way to wrap up the evening.
